White House press secretary Sean Spicer attempted to shift blame to the Obama administration again, by saying that the Obama administration should have vetted Michael Flynn, Trump’s disgraced former national security adviser. “General Flynn was a career military officer who maintained a high-level security clearance throughout his career in the military,” Spicer said. “His clearance was last reissued by the Obama administration in 2016 with full knowledge of his activities that occurred in 2015, as you point out. So the issue is, he was issued a security clearance under the Obama administration in the spring of 2016.” Spicer basically admitted…

Pres. Donald Trump(’s interns) tweeted an impersonal birthday greeting to Melania Trump that was not only poorly done but also mostly about Trump himself (and his inauguration crowds). Compare and contrast this with his predecessor President Barack Obama’s birthday greeting to his wife and soulmate earlier this year: This is how it’s done. This is how a man who loves his wife wishes her a happy birthday. The text of the greeting referenced Obama’s farewell speech, where he praised Michelle for all she’s done and all she’s meant to him (get your tissues ready): POTUS thanks Michelle Obama: “Girl of…

House Republicans are working hard at a second attempt at repealing Obamacare, after their first attempt failed so spectacularly. They’ve managed to make their own health care bill so awful, they had to sneak in a provision that makes sure members of Congress are exempt from it. According to The Hill, The new changes to the bill would allow states to apply for waivers for certain ObamaCare provisions, such as a ban on insurers charging premiums based on a customer’s health and the requirement that insurers’ basic health plans cover certain services, like prescription drugs and mental health. The GOP…

One of Pres. Donald Trump’s latest executive orders was blocked by a San Francisco federal judge, and Trump vented his frustration where else but Twitter. The executive order was to withhold funds from so-called sanctuary cities, which fail to comply with the brutal immigration policies of the Trump administration. San Francisco District Judge William Orrick III said in his ruling that the executive order targeted several categories of federal funding for sanctuary cities, and that plaintiffs challenging the order were likely to succeed in proving it unconstitutional. This was another brutal setback for the Trump administration. Trump has had almost…

“First Lady” Melania Trump turns 47 today, and her beloved husband went to great lengths to publicly celebrate her: He got some intern with beginner Photoshop skills to throw together a birthday greeting for her. The image is poorly done even by Trump standards, and it notably involves a photo taken at the inauguration. Melania is almost cropped out; however, there is a good density of people in the background — good enough to brag about crowd size at one’s inauguration. Killing two birds with one stone! Twitter of course had a field day with this: And then our favorite.…

Pres. Donald Trump drew attention to Maine Gov. Paul LePage’s weight loss today at a signing ceremony for a new executive order. LePage has lost 50 pounds since undergoing weight loss surgery. President Trump comments on Maine Gov. Paul LePage’s weight loss https://t.co/QYSdk4Xt5d — CNN Politics (@CNNPolitics) April 26, 2017 In the middle of his speech at the ceremony, Trump abruptly turned to look at LePage, and said: Governor LePage of Maine, who, by the way, has lost a lot of weight. I knew him when he was heavy and now I know him when he was thin and I…

Pres. Donald Trump’s first 100 days have been so disastrous that it’s pretty much open season on him now. You know you’re not doing so grand when even the Jimmy Carter library is having a laugh at your expense. Other than planting arch-conservative Neil Gorsuch (who was probably a GOP pick anyway, not Trump’s) on the Supreme Court, and signing a bunch of terrifying and destructive Executive Orders that mostly just aimed to undo President Barack Obama’s work, Trump has nothing to show for in his first 100 days. Well, he did golf a lot. The Jimmy Carter Library took…

Ivanka Trump was given a chilly reception at a women’s empowerment summit in Berlin, and at one point she even got booed and hissed at by the audience. Ivanka arrived in Germany to attend the W20 summit. She found herself on a panel with unbelievably accomplished women, such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel and International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde. Moderator Miriam Meckel did not pull punches when grilling Ivanka on her father’s policies and behavior as well as the sheer nepotism that had got her to the White House. Meckel’s first question was something we ask ourselves every day:…

As Donald Trump nears a milestone of 100 days as president, more and more of his supporters are turning away from him. His approval rating is the lowest of any U.S. president of the modern era at this point in the presidency. CNN put together a panel of Trump supporters to review the president’ first 100 days, and they gave mixed responses. While some on the panel chose to remain delusional, Scott McCommons said he regretted voting for Trump. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzQg3Ci58_s I expected him to work a little harder [on health care]. Be a little more reasonable instead of threatening people.…

Ivanka Trump, self-described champion of social issues, is now also an official adviser at the White House. One of Pres. Donald Trump’s key campaign promises and now important bullshit administration talking points is “buy American, hire American.” Not only does Ivanka’s namesake brand not comply with that idea, it turns out its factories treat workers reprehensibly. According to a Washington Post report, the Ivanka Trump brand uses a contractor called G-III Apparel Group for the production of its clothing line. G-III operates a factory in china that employs 80 workers. Now it turns out Fair Labor Association inspectors found as…
