Bernie Sanders just issued a message to Donald Trump that he cannot ignore

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has issued a clarion call for unity in the face of  President Donald Trump and his Republican cronies’ attempts to set the citizens of our nation at odds with one another, just like Vladimir Putin and his Russian oligarch buddies in the Kremlin would like. As the most divisive president in modern history, President Trump has managed to alienate all but 38 percent of the American populace without even trying to pretend that he represents all of the citizens of this country.

With his racist views, his dog whistles to white supremacists, and refusal to condemn neo-Nazi violence, his obvious disdain for the majority of Americans — who rejected his agenda by delivering a popular vote win to his opponent, Hillary Clinton –continues to shape a nation more divided than at any time since both the 1960s era fights over the Vietnam war and the 1860s era fight over slavery.

Senator Sanders took to Twitter to spread his message of strength through mutual support and to challenge President Trump directly.

Our message to Donald Trump, perhaps our most important message, is that we will not let bigots divide us up. Regardless of race, religion, gender or sexual orientation, we are going to stand together.
