Bruce Springsteen has been a longtime supporter of the Obamas and a staunch critic of Pres. Donald Trump. The Boss has never shied away from political opinion, and he even attended a Hillary Clinton rally.
He has also spoken “about Trump’s masculinity and why his confidence is a ‘facade’ — a leadership style propelled by “anxiety, fragility and insecurity.”
Now Springsteen, in collaboration with Houserockers frontman Joe Grushecky, has released an anti-Trump protest song that’s sure to soar in the charts.
Asked by the Post Gazette about the inspiration behind the song, Grushecky said:
[Trump] lost me the moment he started making fun of special needs people. How could a person like that be president of the United States? Regardless of all the other [stuff], that to me is appalling. I have special needs people in my family and in my neighborhood. I worked with special needs people my whole life and I was really offended by it.
“That’s What Makes Us Great” debuted on E Street Radio on Sirius XM this Wednesday, and it will be available from www.joegrushecky.com as well as iTunes in the near future.
