One of the most disturbing facts in Trump’s presidency is seeing our taxes go into his businesses and ultimately into his pocket.
Trump pretends to have separated from his businesses and put his sons in charge, but Americans have seen suspicious dealings in the Trump group.
The House Oversight Committee has seen taxes go into Trump’s accounts and wants to know precisely how much money the Trumps have accepted from the government, according to CNN.
House Democrats signed a joint message sent to twenty-three federal offices asking to see exactly how much government funds are being used at Trump’s businesses. The letter asks a reply from all offices by August 25th.
Rep. Elijah Cummings wrote:
“The President’s financial entanglements make it impossible to know whether he is making his decisions in the public interest or to benefit him or his family members financially.”
Donald Trump “has repeatedly visited and held events at his properties throughout his presidency, including Mar-a-Lago in Florida, where he hosted Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping, and his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Trump has spent 21 of his first 26 weekends in office at properties bearing his name. Overall, he has spent 40 days at Trump-branded golf properties.”
House Democrats say the Trump administration has failed to disclose “expenditures associated with his trips to Mar-a-Lago, Bedminster or any properties he owns.” They want to know “whether the President benefited financially from these expenditures.”
