Trump just told an outrageous lie at an election eve rally and got fact-checked by Jim Acosta

President Donald Trump has reduced  the Republican party to nothing more than a hateful mob fueled by petty spite.

They care little for the actual effects of their disastrous policies and are far more interested in getting a rise out of Democrats. “Triggering the libs” has become the internet battle cry for conservatives and the sole motivating factor behind their increasingly hateful rhetoric. It’s something Trump has not failed to notice.

At a rally ,Trump didn’t even bother to hide his true intentions and gleefully exposed Republican calls for unity as a total farce.

“The fact is I shouldn’t say this because I want to unite, I do eventually want to unite, but the fact is we are driving them crazy. We’re driving them crazy. They don’t know what to do. They’re going loco! Loco! That’s all right,” Trump said, drawing an uproarious response from his frothing crowd.

In one breath he feigns caring about united the country, and in the next, he mocks roughly half of the country and urges his followers to continue antagonizing those who disagree with them politically.

CNN’s Jim Acosta, never one to hesitate in calling out Trump’s hypocrisy and lies, took to Twitter and pointed out that while Trump may claim that he does “eventually want to unite,” he’s already been president for almost two years.

In other words, if the president genuinely cared about healing the divisions in this country we would have seen some proof of it by now. Instead, he continues to demonize his opponents and escalate his hateful rhetoric against immigrants. Trump will never be an uniter because his entire brand of politics is built on stoking animosity. If he allows his supporters to cool off, they might finally see through his charade.
