Attorney General Jeff Sessions has announced to the world that DACA has ended. The decisionwas leaked over the weekend, giving lawmakers six months to come up with a legislative solution.
“The program known as DACA that was effectuated under the Obama administration is being rescinded,” Sessions announced Tuesday.
Sessions said through DACA, the executive branch “deliberately sought to achieve what the legislative branch specifically refused to authorize on multiple occasions.”
“If we are to further our goal of strengthening the constitutional order and the rule of law in America, the Department of Justice cannot defend this overreach,” Sessions said.
