Pres. Donald Trump drew attention to Maine Gov. Paul LePage’s weight loss today at a signing ceremony for a new executive order. LePage has lost 50 pounds since undergoing weight loss surgery.

In the middle of his speech at the ceremony, Trump abruptly turned to look at LePage, and said:
Governor LePage of Maine, who, by the way, has lost a lot of weight. I knew him when he was heavy and now I know him when he was thin and I like him both ways, okay?
This was shockingly rude even for Trump, and even if Gov. LePage himself is not one of our favorites.
LePage underwent surgery to lose weight after his doctors had warned him about potentially developing diabetes.
Trump likes to humiliate people by talking about their appearance, including weight. Last year, he said of Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey, in his presence:
I’m not eating Oreos anymore, you know that — but neither is Chris. You’re not eating Oreos anymore. No more Oreos. For either of us, Chris. Don’t feel bad.
